Social Media Dependency and Facebook Usage among the Older Adults of Kerala

Social media has become an integral part of modern society, with people all ages using various platforms to connect, share information, and stay up-to-date on current events. However, there been a recent trend increased Facebook usage among older adults, which raised concerns about social dependency. The study explores the trends in dependency intensity adults Kerala. present employed quantitative research design sample consisted 416 aged above 60 years. Two scales were used collect data: Media Dependency Scale (SMDS) Intensity Measure (FBI). Frequency percentage analysis, Spearman’s Rho, Kruskal-Wallis H test, Mann-Whitney U test carried out SPSS (Version 23) for deriving results.
